Election Result

Hmmm, according to the BBC the relative %age of votes for Lab/Cons/LibDem is 37/33/22.
Due to the "first past the post" system many people will not have their vote fairly represented in the Commons.
Methinks it's time to implement a system where the number of MPs for a party reflects the number of people who voted for that party.
A bit like they do in the Netherlands.
Mind you, the UK has a much better pub-culture :-)

Couldn't agree more. Post to come on exactly that subject...
But while you're there, exactly what form of PR exists in your most fantastically enlightened Flatlands ?

Well, they are so fantastically enlightened here (Netherlands) that they don't allow me to vote in the parliamentary elections (ok, I am a UK citizen, but I do eat Edam cheese!).
The system is one of PR and coalition government. I'm no expert, but you can read more about it here:

Also you need to be of sound mind to vote, don't you? [grin]
Thanks for the wikipedia reference, very useful. Though bloody complicated!
